On September 4, 2025, Vice President Han Zheng met in Beijing respectively with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico and Singaporean Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong, who are in China for the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. When meeting with Robert Fico, Han Zheng stated that President Xi Jinping held a fruitful meeting with Prime Minister Robert Fico today, reaching new and important common understandings on the development of the China-Slovakia strategic partnership. The Chinese side highly appreciates Prime Minister Robert Fico's steadfast friendship with China and is ready to work with the Slovak side, guided by the important common understandings reached by the leaders of the two countries, to strengthen exchanges of governance experience, and expand and deepen practical cooperation. Noting that the Global Governance Initiative put forth by President Xi Jinping is of great significance under the current international circumstances, Han Zheng expressed the belief that the Slovak side will actively support the initiative. Robert Fico congratulated China on the successful holding of the commemoration on September 3.
