On September 4, 2025, Vice President and Honorary President of the Red Cross Society of China (RCSC) Han Zheng met with President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) Kate Forbes in Beijing.

Han Zheng stated that the humanitarian cause is a common endeavor for all humanity and an important part of building a community with a shared future for mankind. President Xi Jinping attaches great importance to the work of the RCSC, and China is ready to further strengthen cooperation with the IFRC in all aspects. President Xi Jinping put forth the Global Governance Initiative, and one of its core concepts is to advocate the people-centered approach. As an active supporter of international humanitarian cause, China is ready to join hands with all progressive and just forces around the world to build a more just and equitable global governance system.

Kate Forbes stated that the four global initiatives put forth by President Xi Jinping are highly consistent with the philosophy of the IFRC. The IFRC is willing to work with China to strive to address global humanitarian challenges and make new and greater contributions to the international humanitarian cause.
