On July 16, the Chinese Embassy in Belgium and the Chinese Mission to the EU jointly hosted a reception to warmly celebrate the 99th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA).

The reception was held at the Chinese Embassy in Belgium. Head of the Chinese Mission to the EU Ambassador Cai Run, Chinese Ambassador to Belgium Fei Shengchao, Defense Advisor of the Chinese Mission to the EU Major General Huang Damin and Defense Attaché of the Chinese Embassy in Belgium Senior Colonel Chen Lifeng were at the event together with more than 350 senior military and political officials from Belgium, the EU and NATO, members of the diplomatic missions accredited to the EU and Belgium, as well as representatives from various sectors.

In his address, Ambassador Fei, referring to the four initiatives, stated that China always holds high the banner of peace, development, cooperationand mutual benefit. He stressed that China-Belgium and China-EU relations should adhere to their partnership orientation, uphold mutual benefit and win-win cooperation and provide more stability and certainty to the world.

Defense Attaché Senior Colonel Chen introduced Xi Jinping Thought on Strengthening the Military, emphasizing that China remains committed to the path of peaceful development.

The guests extended their congratulations on the 99th anniversary of the founding of the PLA and expressed their willingness to strengthen friendly exchanges with China in defense and security fields.
