Ambassador Fei Shengchao Attended and Addressed the Spring Festival Reception of the Belgian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce

On February 26, Chinese Ambassador to Belgium Fei Shengchao attended and addressed the Spring Festival reception of the BCECC. Nearly 300 people attended the event, including Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance and Pensions Mr. Jan Jambon, Chairman of the BCECC Mr. Bernard Dewit, board members of the BCECC, Belgian business leaders and representatives of Chinese enterprises.

Ambassador Fei noted that China is a most stable and reliable engine of the global economy, and China's door remains open and will open wider and wider. 2026 is the first year of the 15th Five-Year Plan, and China has set promoting high-quality development as the theme of its economic and social development during this period. It will continue to expand high-level opening up and institutional opening up, injecting more certainty into the world economy.

Ambassador Fei said that China and Belgium have always adhered to mutual respect, seeking common ground while reserving differences, and jointly working together for the future. Bilateral relations have maintained steady development in the ever-changing international environment. 2026 marks the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Belgium. China is willing to work with Belgium to bring our bilateral relations to a higher level.

Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance and Pensions Mr. Jan Jambon extended his congratulations on the Chinese Lunar New Year of the Horse, reviewed the history of high-level exchanges between China and Belgium in recent years, and expressed his hope that China-Belgium cooperation will deliver more results in various fields.
