As the old year came to a close and the Spring Festival approached, H.E. Ambassador Fei Shengchao and Counsellor Li Hui of the Chinese Embassy in Belgium visited VUB to meet with and extend New Year greetings to the representatives of Chinese students studying in Belgium as part of efforts to further strengthen care and support for overseas students. During the visit, New Year care packages were distributed to the students.

More than 60 students from 4 universities in Brussels took part in the event. The students were enthusiastic to share their stories of academic experiences and life in Belgium, as well as their views and recommendations on future China–Belgium cooperation.

H. E. Ambassador Fei Shengchao encouraged the students to remain diligent in their studies and proactive in building friendships. He reminded them to enhance safety awareness and safeguard their personal and property security. He also called on the students to make full use of their youth and pursue their dreams with actions.

The atmosphere at the event was lively and warm. The students expressed their sincere gratitude to the Chinese Embassy for the care and good wishes extended to overseas students. They noted that although they were unable to return home for the Spring Festival, they felt the warmth of home while studying abroad. They also expressed their heartfelt wishes for the continued prosperity and progress of their motherland.
