Ambassador Fei Shengchao Attended and Addressed the Chinese New Year Reception of Flanders-China Chamber of Commerce

On February 5, 2026, Chinese Ambassador to Belgium His Excellency Mr Fei Shengchao attended and addressed the Chinese New Year reception of the Flanders-China Chamber of Commerce (FCCC). Over 100 guests were present, including Minister for Trade and Economy at the Chinese Mission to the EU Mr. Suo Peng,Chairman of FCCC Mr Philippe Latour, CEO of KBC Belgium Mr David Moucheron as well as the key members of FCCC.

Ambassador Fei stressed that amid a complex environment of weak global economic growth momentum and rising uncertainties, China’s economic development achieved new successes in 2025, fulfilled the goals set out in the 14th Five-Year Plan and has served as a key driver of global growth for many consecutive years. The year 2026 marks the beginning of the 15th Five-Year Plan. China will remain committed to high-quality development and redouble efforts in scientific and technological innovation, green development, expanding domestic demand and opening-up to the world. It welcomes enterprises from Belgium, Europe and beyond to explore and develop in the Chinese market. Ambassador Fei said that 2026 marks the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Belgium. China is ready to work with Belgium to elevate bilateral relations and cooperation to a new level.
