On February 10, Chinese Ambassador to Belgium Fei Shengchao attended and addressed the 2026 Spring Festival Reception of the China Chamber of Commerce in Belgium and Luxembourg. Nearly 300 people attended, including Minister Suo Peng of the Chinese Mission to the EU, representatives from the Chinese and Belgian political and business circles, members of the Chamber of Commerce, and local partners.
Ambassador Fei pointed out that the world economy is currently undergoing a new period of adjustment, and the international economic and trade order is facing severe challenges. China's economy, which is "moving forward under pressure and developing with new and good momentum" in 2025, has rightfully become a "stabilizing anchor" for the world. 2026 is the first year of the 15th Five-Year Plan. Promoting high-quality development has become the theme of China's economic and social development during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, injecting more certainty into the world economy. China's innovation sector is thriving, and the potential of its vast market is being unleashed, providing the world with a "list of opportunities." Ambassador Fei stated that 2026 marks the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Belgium, and China is willing to work with Belgium to bring bilateral relations to a new level.
