Q: It's learnt that China has provided a batch of humanitarian aid materials to Kyrgyzstan. Please give us more details.

A: The recent unrest in southern Kyrgyzstan has caused severe casualties and loss of properties and seriously affected the work and life of the local people. China and Kyrgyzstan, as friendly neighbours and members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization(SCO), enjoy deep traditional friendship between their people. In order to promote the early restoration of stability in Kyrgyzstan and the normalization of social order in the Osh region, the Chinese Government has decided to offer a batch of emergency humanitarian aid materials worth of 5 million RMB yuan to Kyrgyzstan.The materials include medicine, medical equipment, food, drinking water, blankets, tents and etc. The first batch of aid has been delivered to the Osh Airport at 16:45, June 15 by the chartered planes dispatched by the Chinese Government to bring back Chinese citizens there. China hopes that these materials can help the Kyrgyz people to overcome the current difficulties. China will continue to offer humanitarian aid to Kyrgyzstan within its capacity.
