In his answer to journalists' questions, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Qin Gang noted on May 21:

Since China appealed to the international community a few days ago to provide tents first in offering aids to the quake-affected area of Sichuan, many countries and organizations have responded quickly with large supply of tents. We are sincerely grateful.

Given the number of the affected people, a large number of tents are still in urgent need. China appeals to the international community again for more tents among other things.
