On the afternoon of December 9, 2022 local time, President Xi Jinping met with King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in Riyadh.

Xi Jinping pointed out that China supports Bahrain in safeguarding its national sovereignty, security and stability and thanked Bahrain for its long-term and firm support to China on issues concerning China’s core interests. China is ready to strengthen the synergy of development strategies with Bahrain, actively participate in the economic development projects of Bahrain, enhance medical and health cooperation, and promote the Chinese language education in Bahrain. China appreciates the efforts made by Bahrain to promote China’s cooperation with Arab and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, and stands ready to work with Bahrain to promote greater development of China-Arab and China-GCC relations. China congratulates Bahrain on becoming a dialogue partner of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and is ready to strengthen communication and collaboration with Bahrain on multilateral platforms.

Hamad said that Bahrain and China enjoy very friendly relations and Bahrain regards China as an important strategic partner. Young people in Bahrain love China, are attracted by China, and believe that China stands for the future. The cooperation between Bahrain and China sees no limit, and Bahrain sincerely looks forward to more cooperation with China in the fields including economy, trade, infrastructure and health and more results to be achieved.
