Wang Yi Refutes Disinformation about So-called "Forced Labor" in Xinjiang
2022-07-29 22:35

On July 29, 2022 local time, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi attended the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) foreign ministers' meeting in Tashkent. Wang Yi refuted the disinformation related to so-called "forced labor" in Xinjiang fabricated by some countries.

Wang Yi said, in recent times, some countries have been manipulating Xinjiang-related issues and fabricating disinformation about the so-called "forced labor" in Xinjiang. Essentially they are seeking to undermine the prosperity and stability in Xinjiang and contain China's development and revitalization under the pretext of human rights. The people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang will by no means allow this, nor will all the Chinese people.

Wang Yi said, the SCO members suffered the keenly-felt pain of interference by external forces. We should learn from the history and oppose any attempts to interfere in other countries' domestic affairs, instigate "color revolutions", and subvert legitimate state power. We should firmly support each other in pursuing development paths suited to the national conditions, firmly support each other in major measures to maintain social stability, and work together to create a favorable environment for the development and revitalization of regional countries.
