On April 6, 2022, President Xi Jinping exchanged congratulatory messages with Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

Xi Jinping pointed out, China and Armenia are traditional partners of friendly cooperation. Since the establishment of diplomatic ties 30 years ago, China-Armenia relations have maintained a sound and steady momentum of development. The two sides have deepened political mutual trust, made solid progress in cooperation across the board, and kept closer people-to-people and cultural exchanges. Since the outbreak of COVID-19, the two peoples have stood together and joined hands in the fight against the pandemic, demonstrating the deep friendship between the two peoples.

Xi Jinping stressed that I attach great importance to the development of China-Armenia relations and stand ready to work with President Khachaturyan to take the 30th anniversary as an opportunity to push for more achievements in bilateral ties and cooperation in various areas for the benefit of the two countries and the two peoples.

Khachaturyan said, over the past 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, bilateral cooperation in various fields has yielded fruitful results. The Armenian side attaches great importance to China's development progress and international role. I am ready to work with President Xi Jinping to realize the sustained and steady development of Armenia-China friendly cooperative relations and bring benefits to the two peoples.
