Wen Jiabao Meets with Foreign Dignitaries Attending Summer Davos

On September 14, 2011, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao met respectively with Beninese President Yayi Boni, Guinean President Alpha Conde, Kyrgyz Prime Minister Almazbek Atambayev and Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong from Singapore during the 2011 Summer Davos meeting in Dalian.

While meeting with Yayi Boni, Wen said China and Benin share profound traditional friendship and bilateral ties have enjoyed sound development in recent years. China was willing to continue to provide sincere help for the economic and social development of Benin. Under the new situation, both sides should display the role of the mixed committee on economy and trade and other mechanisms and strengthen cooperation in infrastructure construction, economy and trade, agriculture and other fields. He urged both sides to keep close coordination under the framework of China-Africa Cooperation Forum to bring benefit to both peoples, promote China-Africa friendship and safeguard common interests.

Yayi Boni said China and Benin had maintained a brotherly friendship and their cooperation in bilateral areas and under the framework of China-Africa Cooperation Forum has greatly promoted Benin's economic and social development. Benin hoped to continue to receive support and help from China and welcomed Chinese enterprises to invest in the country to expand mutually beneficial cooperation.

While meeting with Alpha Conde, Wen said since the establishment of diplomatic ties, China and Guinea have offered mutual support and mutual help to each other and their friendship has a solid foundation. The two sides should further carry forward the traditional friendship and deepen exchanges and cooperation in various fields based on mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit. Wen expressed the hope that China and Guinea could deepen cooperation in economy and trade, mineral resources development, infrastructure construction and agriculture and manage projects well concerning people's livelihoods in the principles of government guidance with enterprises playing a major role and market operation in a bid to push forward China-Guinea, China-Africa relations.

Alpha Conde said the Guinean people have always held friendly feelings towards the Chinese people and the friendship between both sides has been deeply rooted in the hearts of both peoples. China's support and help were essential for the stability and development of Guinea, and Guinea hoped China could actively participate in the exploration of Guinea's energy and mining resources, expand bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas and push the ties to a new level.

While meeting with Almazbek Atambayev, Wen said frequent high-level contacts between the two countries over the past year have enhanced political mutual trust, giving a strong impetus to stable and healthy development of bilateral relations. China supported the efforts of Kyrgyzstan in maintaining state sovereignty and independence as well as the efforts in promoting economic and social development. The two countries should take the opportunity of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties next year to expand exchanges and cooperation in all areas, strengthen coordination and cooperation under the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and other multilateral frameworks and promote the development of the two countries as well as regional peace, stability and prosperity.

Almazbek Atambayev said China, as Kyrgyzstan's good friend, good neighbor and good partner, has offered sincere support and assistance for Kyrgyzstan's stability and development. He expressed the hope that the two countries could further expand cooperation in various fields such as transportation, energy and finance and uplift the ties to a new level.

While meeting with Goh Chok Tong, Wen said relations between the two countries have kept a sound momentum with close high-level exchanges and comprehensive, in-depth development of cooperation in various fields. China is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Singapore on finance, environmental protection, recycling economy and other fields, keep closer coordination and cooperation in East Asian affairs and promote common development and regional peace, stability and prosperity.

Goh Chok Tong said, China's development has brought new opportunities to Asia and the world, and the two countries have broad prospects for future cooperation. He hoped that both sides will continuously forge ahead and join hands to meet challenges, to achieve sustainable economic and social development and contribute to regional peace and prosperity.

Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi, Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission Zhang Ping, Secretary of the CPC Provincial Committee of Liaoning Wang Min, MOC International Trade Representative & Vice Minister of Commerce Gao Hucheng and other officials attended the meetings.
