On May 16th, Chinese Ambassador to Belgium Fei Shengchao attended and addressed the “China-Belgium Business Dialogue: Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of China-EU Diplomatic Relations” hosted by the China Chamber of Commerce in Belgium and Luxembourg (CCCBL). Over a hundred representatives from various sectors of China and Belgium attended the event, including CCCBL Chairman He Biqing, Chairman of the Belgian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce (BCECC) Bernard Dewit, Executive Director of EU-China Business Association (EUCBA) and the Flanders-China Chamber of Commerce (FCCC) Gwenn Sonck, and MP of the Brussels-Capital Region Angelina Chan.

Ambassador Fei pointed out that on this important occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and EU, the economic and trade relations between China and Europe have developed into one of the most important economic and trade relations in the world. With China’s sustained economic growth and ongoing green transformation, and Europe’s strong foundation in scientific and technological innovation and green development, the two sides have a lot to offer each other and pursue win-win development in such areas as addressing climate change, promoting green transformation and optimizing global industrial and supply chains.

Ambassador Fei noted that in a world of growing complexity and uncertainty, China and Europe, as two major global players, should uphold an open, practical and constructive approach, deepen mutual trust and cooperation, and join hands to meet global challenges.
