On January 24, “Happy Chinese New Year · Charm of Jiangsu” Cultural and Tourism Exchange Event Opened at China Cultural Center in Brussels. The event displays the fascinating art, scenery and folk culture of Jiangsu, East China to the Belgian and European public through rich cultural and tourism resources and national intangible cultural heritage of the province. The event was attended by nearly 150 guests including Chinese Ambassador to Belgium Fei Shengchao and his wife, Minister Counsellor Wu Gang, Leader of Jiangsu delegation Chen Jinsong, Chairman of the Belgian-Chinese Economic and Commercial Council Bernard Dewit, and Municipal councilor of Evere Elsje Bouttelgier.

When watching Chamber Music · Kunqu Opera - The Peony Pavilion performed by Suzhou Symphony Orchestra and Suzhou Kunqu Opera Theater of Jiangsu, Chinese Ambassador to Belgium Fei Shengchao extended his gratitude to Jiangsu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism for bringing wonderful performances to Belgium and celebrating Spring Festival together with Belgian people.

In his remarks, Minister Counsellor Wu Gang from the Chinese Embassy in Belgium said that Spring Festival as one of the most important traditional festivals for the Chinese people, reflects values of harmony between humanity and nature as well as harmony among people. The inscription of Spring festival will actively promote dialogue and mutual respect among cultures, contributing more Chinese elements to the diversity of world cultures.

The event is supported by the Chinese Embassy in Belgium and organized by China Cultural Center Jiangsu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism.
