On December 9, 2024, Chinese Ambassador to Belgium Fei Shengchao and the  embassy delegation visited Vrije Universiteit Brussel and met with  Rector Jan Danckaert and professors in the university. The two sides  reviewed the history of Vrije Universiteit Brussel's cooperation with  China and engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as deepening  inter-university partnerships, facilitating faculty and student  exchanges and enhancing project collaboration.

Rector  Jan Danckaert said that Vrije Universiteit Brussel values freedom,  diversity, inclusiveness and openness, and has established long-term  partnerships of cooperation with numerous Chinese universities. Going  forward, the university will continue to work with its partners to build  more bridges of of friendly cooperation.

Ambassador  Fei commended the cooperation between Chinese universities and Vrije  Universiteit Brussel. He emphasized that the Chinese Embassy would like  to serve as a bridge and provide support for stronger win-win  cooperation between Chinese universities and Vrije Universiteit  Brussel. Hopefully the two sides will deepen cooperation in even more  fields, delivering greater benefits to the people of the two countries and the world. 

Ambassador Fei and the embassy delegation also met with representatives of Chinese students at Vrije Universiteit Brussel, extending to them the best wishes from their motherland and the embassy.
