On December 2, 2024, Chinese Ambassador to Belgium Fei Shengchao met with Rector of the University of Mons Philippe Duboi.

Rector Duboi said that the University of Mons is both one of Belgium’s  youngest and oldest institutions. Established in 2009, its history  dates back to 1837. The university upholds the values of openness and  inclusiveness, actively engaging in educational exchanges and cooperation with institutions worldwide, including Chinese universities. The University of Mons has a long-standing tradition of student exchanges and cooperation with Chinese institutions and looks forward to deepening mutual learning and understanding in the future.

Ambassador Fei noted that both China and Belgium attach great importance to education  with an open and inclusive approach, respecting ecological and cultural  diversity. We look forward to more win-win cooperation between the two  sides in the future and contribute to the long-term development of  educational exchanges between China, Belgium and beyond.
