On the afternoon of Oct.25, 2024, the first China-Belgium Youth Football Friendly match  was held successfully in KU Leuven University. Ambassador of the  People’s Republic of China H.E. Fei Shengchao attended the event and cheered for the teams. Mr. Li Meng, General Manager of Hainan Airlines in Brussels, also attended the event.

A total of more than 30 young players from four universities, including KU Leuven and Ghent University, participated in the match. Sharing  the passion for football and friendship, the students competed in high  spirit and brought out their best. After intense competition, Team VUB  and Leuven won the championship and Team Ghent won the runner-up.

Oct.  25 is the 53rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties  between China and Belgium. To have this exciting match on this historic  date made every audience very excited. Students from China, Belgium and  various countries enjoyed the match. They have shown their best in  football skills, team play and sportsmanship, and sent their best wishes  to China-Belgium relations. The match has helped enhance friendship and  boosted confidence in friendly exchanges and cooperation between China  and Belgium.
