On September 25, the Chinese Embassy in Belgium and the Chinese Mission to the European Union (EU) jointly held a reception in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Chinese Ambassador to Belgium Fei Shengchao, Charge d’Affaires a.i. of the Chinese Mission to the EU Zhu Jing, and over 1,000 guests including senior officials from the Belgian government and EU institutions and other sectors, diplomatic envoys, representatives of Chinese institutions and overseas Chinese attended the event. In his speech, Ambassador Fei Shengchao elaborated on the glorious achievements of China over the past 75 years and the resolution of the third plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on further deepening reforms comprehensively to pursue Chinese modernization. He also emphasized that China’s development will create more opportunities for Belgium and the wider world and add more certainty to peace and development of humanity, and that China-Belgium relations enjoy a brighter future. Mr. Jan Hoogmartens, head of cabinet of the Belgian Minister of Foreign Affairs, extended warm congratulations on China’s National Day. He spoke highly of the positive momentum of Belgium-China relations, and expressed his wishes for even stronger exchanges and cooperation between the two countries in different fields. In a friendly and warm atmosphere, the guests commended China’s development achievements and expressed their best wishes for China-Belgium relations. |
