Since the COVID-19 outbreak worldwide, the number of applicants visiting the Chinese Embassy in Belgium for consular services has decreased significantly. In view of this, the Embassy makes adjustment on the consular services hours as follows:

1) As from 16 March 2020, the office will open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (except public holidays) from 9:00 am to 11:30 am. In case of applications submitted on Monday, the applicants for notarization, legalization and travel document may pick up on Friday instead of Thursday. For example, those applications submitted on 16 March (Monday) may pick up on 20 March (Friday). In case of the applications submitted on Wednesdays and Fridays, the applicants for notarization, legalization and travel document may pick up on the fourth working day after the application. For example, those applications submitted on 18 March (Wednesdays) may be picked up on 23 March (Monday). Except for humanitarian reasons, rush and express services will not be accepted.

2) The consulting telephone and email services remain unchanged. You may reach the consular office at 0032-27750888 from 9:00 am to 12:00 am from Monday to Friday (except public holidays).

3) The postal service for consular documents will be accepted as usual. In order to minimize the flow of people and reduce the risk of infection, it is recommended that the applicants for passports, travel documents and notarization choose the postal service for picking up.

4) Those with humanitarian emergency and Chinese citizens who lose passports and need to return to residing countries, are welcomed to the Consular Section at any time. Please call our consular assistance hotline at 0032-27632006 in advance.
