Remark by Spokesperson of the Embassy of China in Belgium
2019-11-24 01:56

The Embassy of China in Belgium takes notice of reports by some Belgian media about cyber attack against the trade mission to China led by HRH Princess Astrid and highly doubts the authenticity of the related reports.

Cyber attacks, being a complex global issue, are anonymous and cross-border in nature. Some parties, without solid evidence, make unfounded speculations and hype-up about alleged cyber attacks by China. Such extremely irresponsible claims have ulterior motive of putting a spoke in the wheel, and putting a brake on the China-Belgium win-win cooperation poised to achieve accelerating progress following the trade mission's successful visit to China.

It is the consistent and unequivocal position of the Chinese government to firmly defend cyber security and oppose any form of cyber attacks. China stands ready to work with the Belgian side in materializing the results of the trade mission led by Princess Astrid so that China-Belgium cooperation will bring even more tangible benefits to our peoples.
