China-Belgium Table Tennis Match Show Held in Brussels

In celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and to strengthen the China-Belgium friendship, the Belgium China Sport Culture Friendship Association held a table tennis match show at Tangla Hotel on October 19th, 2019 with support from the Embassy of China in Belgium. Chinese Ambassador to Belgium Cao Zhongming, Chairman of the Belgium China Sport Culture Friendship Association Wang Dayong, Vice President of the Belgian Olympic and Interfederal Committee Jean-Michel Saive, Chinese Olympic Gold Medalist Deng Yaping and Director of Moutai Group in Europe Lv Qingqing attended and delivered speeches. Charge d’affaires of the Chinese Mission to the EU Wang Hongjian, President of the Belgian Royal Tennis Table Federation Jean-Michel Mureau, President of BCECC Bernard Dewit, President of the Panathlon Wallonia-Brussels Philippe Housiaux, alderman of the Ans Municipality Philippe Saive, overseas Chinese in Belgium, Chinese company expatriates, Chinese students and Belgians from across the society, all together over 300 people were present at the event.

Ambassador Cao Zhongming, Olympic champion Deng Yaping and the Saive brothers played doubles to kick off the match. Chinese and Belgian players, among them children and teenagers, followed onto the court to present great matches. Ms. Deng Yaping had cordial exchanges with ping pong fans and gave advice to young players to help them polish their skills. Finally, a men’s singles put on by the Saive brothers won rounds of warm applause from the audience.
