At invitation, Ambassador Cao Zhongming visited the city of Bruges, seat of the West Flanders provincial government on 17 January 2019, and met with Governor Carl Decaluwé, Mayor and Chairman of the port of Zeebrugge Dirk De fauw, and CEO of the port Joachim Coens. The ambassador also paid a visit to the Port of Zeebrugge.
