At the invitation of the East Flanders government, Ambassador Cao Zhongming visited the city of Ghent, seat of the provincial government on 14 January 2019, and met with Acting Governor Didier De Tollenaere, Vice Governor Annemie Charlier, Mayor Mathias De Clercq, President of Ghent University Rik Van de Walle, CEO of the North sea port Daan Schalck, and Executive Director of the FCCC Gwenn Sonck. The ambassador also had a meeting with the professors and students from the Ghent University and visited the North sea port and the VOLVO Ghent plant. Economic counsellor Zhou Zhaoming, Consular and Administrative counsellor Sun Wei were also present.
