|Welcome to 2017 Chinese New Year Parade|
2017 Chinese New Year Parade is the second of its kind ever to be held in Brussels, organized by Chinese Embassy in Belgium, Brussels Municipal Government and the Chinese community in Belgium, and sponsored by China Cultural Center in Brussels and Chinese enterprises such as ZTE, COSCO Shipping Lines, Anbang Group. The first of its kind in February 2016 attracted more than ten thousands people with enthusiastic participation.
2017 Chinese New Year Parade will start at 2:00pm on 28 January 2017. It will depart from Grand-Place, first arrive at Manneken Pis for dressing him with Tang suit, then pass by La Monnaie, le Boulevard Ansbach, and stop at La Bourse where brilliant performances will be shown.
Throughout the event, the City Hall will be lit up in red, the symbolic colour of China. Around 20 square formations will show Chinese cultural diversities, including dragon & lion dance, folk dance, wushu, tai chi, cheongsam show, folk music, etc. Apart from local Chinese and Belgian artists, we also invite art troupes from Shanghai and Shenzhen to give performance. Over 1,000 performers will get engaged. During the Parade, you will find not only Chinese faces, but also Belgian kids with Tang suit, Belgian girls with cheongsam, Belgian elderly playing tai chi and Belgian young performing lion dance.
At the invitation of Dinant Municipal Government, 2017 Chinese New Year Parade will extend to Dinant, the city of saxphone, on 29 January 2017. Besides the parade, there will be Chinese traditional performances, and saxphone music jointly played by musicians from China and Belgium.
