Assistant Foreign Minister Zhai Jun meets with Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki

From April 8 to 9, 2008, Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Zhai Jun paid a visit to Iran for political consultations. During his visit, Zhai met respectively with Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki, Deputy Foreign Minister Mehdi Safari and Acting Deputy Minister for Asian & Pacific Affairs Seyed Mohammad Ali Hosseini. Both sides exchanged in-depth views on a wide range of topics.

Both sides reviewed the new progress made in the bilateral ties in recent years, expressing satisfaction with the fruitful friendly cooperation between the two countries. The two countries are determined to continue deepening friendship, expanding cooperation and pushing for bilateral ties to a new level, they agreed.
