Unprovoked suspicion that smearing China is a political virus
2021-05-07 14:06

Recently, we have noticed that some Belgian media and experts have made various speculations about the cyber attack on Belnet on May 4. Some even baselessly suspected that China has something to do with this, spreading irresponsible conspiracy theories. It is absolutely not normal to use China at every turn and to discredit China by insinuation.

What needs to be emphasized is that China is a staunch defender of cyber security and one of the main victims of cyber attacks. China has always resolutely opposed and cracked down on all forms of cyber attacks in accordance with the law. The Chinese government will not and has never supported any hacking. According to reports, relevant authorities in Belgium are investigating this cyber attack, and spreading "presumption of guilt" remarks before the facts are ascertained is a violation of the objective and truthfulness principles of news.

In European and American countries, there are always people with ulterior motives trying to pour dirty water on China, stigmatizing China through speculation and hindering China's development and progress. This idea of treating China as a threat because of China's large size, rapid development and adherence to the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics is ridiculous and wrong, and an unhealthy mentality. China has no intention of engaging in systemic competition and ideological confrontation with Western countries. China's development does not come at the expense of the interests of other countries, but provides huge development opportunities for all countries in the world. It is unreasonable to suspect that slandering China is a political virus, which will encourage the spread of false information, This must make us vigilant and we must stand against it. The "vaccine" to deal with this political virus is to abandon the Cold War mentality and the misconceptions of zero-sum games, and work together to build a community with a shared future for mankind.
