Legalization means the authentication of the last signature or seal / stamp of the relevant authority affixed on a document. A legalization in no way attests to the authenticity of the contents of a document.
To have a document which was executed in Belgium be accepted in the People's Republic of China, the document shall: 1. be notarized by a Belgian Notary Public. (E-apostille/e-legalisation is not accepted) 2. be authenticated by the Legalization Office of Belgian Foreign Ministry. 3. be authenticated by Chinese Embassy.
Normal service takes 4 working days, express service takes 3 or rush service 2 working days.
Documents to provide: 1. Application form 2. Copy of the passport (or the valid ID for Belgian citizen) of the applicant (and entrusted person/agent who submit the application on the applicant's behalf) 3. Original documents and copies of pages with legalization stickers. The original document containing more than two pages should be properly and securely bound.
Fees: Civil legalization: 20 euro for each document Commercial legalization: 40 euro for each document Adoption: fees based on the content of the legalized documents Express Service: 21 euro extra for each document Rush Service: 31 euro extra for each document
